Sarah was the first female to qualify for the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition in QLD and first female to sell Stud Cattle in Australia. She was born and raised on a mixed grazing family operation near Roma, QLD and is a committee member for The Young Beef Producers Forum.
Application of research and new technologies to improve crop production is a key focus of Dr Hannah Robinson’s work as a Barley Breeder at InterGrain Pty Ltd. She is highly motivated by the challenges we encounter in plant breeding, specifically improving production for a growing population.
Elena is the Software for AgriWebb and helped design AgriWebb’s biosecurity function, making it easier for farmers to safeguard their properties and the wider community against pests and diseases.
Tracy graduated from Murdoch Uni Vet School in Perth and focused on small animals in WA and NT before becoming a partner in a beef cereal property in Queensland.Tracy set up a semen laboratory Australian Veterinary Semen Morphology which she continues to operate out of Broome.
Connor has over 20 years of experience in the Australian red meat industry. Senior roles with some of Australia’s largest meat companies contrasted with highly innovative projects with start-ups, have provided Connor with a diverse professional career. Presently, Connor is the General Manager of Fulton Market Group Australia
Emma is an AWEX wool classer, who is based on the Monaro in Southern NSW. Emma is passionate about her role in preparing Australia’s wool clip and in mentoring the next generation of wool classers and wool handlers.
After six years as an Agricultural extension decided to move from the office and into the air. John is based out of Ayr in North Queensland flying for Ryellen Heliwork carrying out a diverse range of helicopter services on daily basis.
Adam & Jacynta are first generation farmers on their 2,500 hectare property ‘Boreelum’, in central Queensland. They run a mix of breeding and trading cattle and strive to run a profitable, sustainable farming operation.
Colin Lea | Financial Advisor
Colin is originally from a broad acre farming background in the Riverina and maintains a passion for agriculture in dealing with the firms regional clients. Colin had been a client of the Carey Group for 10 years, prior to joining the firm in 2013.
Meet the Moderators
Sophie lives and works on a farm with her husband Tim and their two children near Orange in Central West NSW. She is a food writer, content creator and social media coach.
After studying print journalism at the University of Canberra she began a career in feature writing for food and lifestyle magazines both in Australia and Italy. She has written four cookbooks; Local is Lovely (pub 2014 by Hachette), A Basket by the Door (pub 2019 by Murdoch Books), In Good Company (2021 Murdoch Books) and her latest is being published by Murdoch Books Autumn 2022.
Sophie also creates content for a number of clients and works one on one or in small groups helping primary industries and producers grow the skills they need to use social media platforms and newsletters to build communities of advocates around their businesses.
Oli Le Lievre
Oli is passionate about the future for rural and regional Australia, engaged consumer awareness, and showcasing career opportunities to attract the next generation into a career in agriculture. He believes that Innovation across the supply chain can deliver solutions where business and communities can thrive.
Ranging from farm management, to fresh produce export, Oli's career has seen him responsible for Business Development of Aglive, a Tech start-up providing solutions for farmers and supply chain participants to tackle major issues such as trust in our supply chain and food provenance. In 2019 he founded Humans of Agriculture, a platform looking to connect people to Agriculture through understanding their influence on the food & fibre system. He’s on a mission to have 'More People, More Often, Identifying with Agriculture'.
